INTER BEE CINEMA, a comprehensive area specialized in film shooting techniques and equipment, is born!

In 2024, Inter BEE will celebrate its 60th anniversary. To commemorate this, as an exhibition that contributes to the further evolution and revitalization of the video entertainment industry, we are specializing in equipment and technology for the production part (location shooting and production) of movies, dramas, commercials, etc., a special project area "INTER BEE CINEMA" is set up.
This is a new area to be established for the first time this year that will create a venue for technical and product approaches and exchanges for professional visitors from various fields related to film and drama production, including cinematography, lighting, art, and sound recording, as well as inspire the next generation of visual content creators, including individual film creators and students studying film and video production techniques and support them for the future development of the Japanese film industry.
The exhibit target will be cinema cameras, cinema lenses, lighting equipment, related accessories and software used in film and TV drama production focusing on equipment and technologies specific to film production.
Furthermore, the expected visitors will primarily include film industry professionals such as filmmakers, directors, producers, directors of photography, camera operators, lighting technicians, sound engineers, art directors, and other individuals and organizations involved in film production. The event also aims to attract students from specialized schools and universities who are interested in the industry.
⬛︎Realistic movie shooting studio set will be reproduced
As a center for disseminating the latest technological trends in film production, a full-scale “studio set” that recreates an actual movie set will be set up in the center of this area as the main exhibition content. A cinema camera and lenses will be set up in a space where visitors can experience actual filming. In addition, DP (Director of Photography) and other professional staff on set will be assigned to conduct daily demonstrations of actual movie shooting.
The Open Stage, where talk shows and planning sessions will be held, will feature educational content as well as special sessions that will inspire the next generation, such as talk sessions by professional staff from the front lines of cinematography, lighting, etc. using actual film and drama productions as subjects, and the latest industry-related trends by a wide range of creators and film industry professionals.
In addition, there will be a production exhibition area where the latest products and technologies for cinematography by various manufacturers will be displayed, and a lens bar counter where all the world's cinema lenses will be gathered to display.

The theme of this year's event is “Japanese Production System,” a unique system that has been developed by the Japanese film industry and will be presented in a positive manner. While introducing the latest technologies in Japanese film production, and disseminating the traditional film production techniques, we will create a cinema community that inspires the next generation, while approaching professionals in the current film industry as part of our efforts to strengthen the entertainment industry.
In recent years, the broadcasting industry, which has been the main target of Inter BEE in the past, has been seeking to produce drama productions with a cinematic style. The exhibition will also contribute to the development and revitalization of the film industry by creating business opportunities for equipment manufacturers and expert users.
The exhibition will also strengthen its efforts to attract new exhibitors and visitors from overseas and provide a format that facilitates participation by overseas manufacturers. In addition, Inter BEE, which has been focused on the broadcasting industry, will expand opportunities for a wider range of people in the film production field to learn about and experience Inter BEE.
⬛︎Aiming an exhibition area as the HUB for of film creators of next generation
With the cooperation and support of the Japanese Society of Cinematographers (JSC), the Japanese Society of Lighting Directors (JSL), and other related industry organizations, a full-scale film set will be designed and constructed to recreate a full-scale movie set for the installation of the studio set, which will be the center of the area. The aim of this project is also to encourage the next generation to enter the entire industry, given the current situation where it is difficult for young film creators and small-scale production companies to embody a large-scale film and television set, and the chronic shortage of young assistants in all fields.
It also aims to create a community area that will play an important role as a hub connecting traditional filmmakers and those involved in the film industry with broadcasters and the web-based video production field.
The purpose of the “INTER BEE CIANEMA” area is to bring together people involved in film and drama production to exchange ideas and new equipment, as well as to provide a place for people in the industry to interact, thereby contributing to the advancement of the film production field, the development of the community, and the development of the film industry in Japan.
