2014.11.20 UP
EIZO (booth number: 4304), in addition to exhibiting their “ColorEdge” series color management LCD monitor for video and CG production, showed off their production workflow improvements at their joint exhibit with Videojet and X-Rite.
The main attraction was the cutting edge 31.1 inch color management LCD monitor “CG318-4K” which can display DCI 4K resolution (4096x2160). Also on display at the booth were systems using their specialized software “ColorNavigator 6” and “ColorNavigator NX,” which allowed visitors to experience the realistic colors and operability prior to going on sale.
Further, there was a demonstration of the device emulation functions for existing devices, aimed at 27 inch video production such as on the “CG277” monitor, and a production work flow from the production stage to final color adjustment was displayed.
Three times each day a seminar on the basics of color management was held at the booth. A seminar entitled “Device emulation using ColorNavigator 6” was held on November 20 at 14:00 and November 21 at 11:00 and 16:00, and a seminar entitled “Color matching using DaVinci Resolve 11” was held on November 20 at 11:00 and 16:00 and November 21 at 14:00; each lasted about 20 minutes.
- “CG318-4K,” compatible with 4096x2160 resolution, and has a 98% DCI-P3 coverage
The CG318-4K is a 31.1 inch LCD monitor that can produce a 4096x2160 resolution compatible with American cinema standards (DCI standards). It has a wide color range, covering 98% of “DCI-P3” for digital cinema, it further complies with DCI standards with a high contrast of 1500:1. It features accurate colors close to the actual finished product and dark blacks.
It has a complete suite of features so as to ensure proper color management. It has an internal calibration sensor and allows highly precise display adjustment in conjunction with standard and basic devices. In addition to automatic color management via internal sensors, it comes equipped with a unique circuit that maintains the uniformity of the image on the large screen. It is capable of displaying stable luminance, chromaticity, and gradation only 3 minutes after being powered up, making it a high quality display product. It is expected to be used not only in video production, but also in the digital photography and newspaper printing industries, which have recently entered the high resolution era.
- Solutions for monitor management over networks.
Also on exhibit at EIZO’s booth was the 2560x1440 resolution 27 inch color management LCD monitor “CG277,” the 1920x1220 resolution 24.1 inch color management use LCD monitor “CG247,” and others. ColorEdge CG277 has a 93% DCI-P3 coverage rate and is also compatible with 4K simplified displays; ColorEdge CG247 has a 95% DCI-P3 coverage rate, resulting in precise strict color management.
In addition, a color management solution using “ColorNavigator Network” was on display. This is an integrated management system using a network connected to multiple monitors. It reduces the number of steps required to adjust monitors, improves both product quality and asset management, and is effective in preventing color miscommunication between geographically separate related companies.
