Inter BEE 2016 TV Unitex Showcasing the world's first USB3.0 enabled LTO-7 tape drives and in-house-developed LTFS LTO tape file system

Unitex will be exhibiting for 3 days from November 16th (Wed.) to 18th (Fri.) at Inter BEE 2016, held at Makuhari Messe. LTO archive solutions suitable for long term storage of 4K/8K high resolution video and audio data will be exhibited.
On exhibit will be a solution which increases data integrity by utilizing the latest-generation LTO tape drives and LTFS LTO tape file systems— the first in the world to allow a USB3.0 connection— in combination with archive software developed in-house. This solution enables copying of data from an external HDD to multiple media (e.g. LTO tapes) simultaneously.
We will also introduce a setup where storage of enormous amounts of video resources, efficient transfer and sharing of data, and data on distributed storage of past resources is all migrated to LTO and storage efficiency is increased.

The LT70/60/50 series are the world's first USB3.0 enabled LTO tape drives. Used in combination with archive software, LTFS allows simultaneous copying of data on a HDD to multiple LTO media in addition to improving data integrity.
The LTO archive software UNITEX Archive LT is a high-grade LTO archive software offering integrated management of archive data. Archiving of various data types e.g. video data and CCTV data is supported. The software provides efficient offline management of archive data and built-in media management functions. Linking to other systems is possible by utilizing the command line interface or the API.
