■ Handy 4K camera with f/1.2 lens made by JVC Kenwood
JVC Kenwood's booth (No. 3108) will feature its latest professional 4K cameras and video delivery solutions. The booth will show the compact and handheld professional GY-HM200 4K camcorder for the first time in Japan. The successor to the GY-HMQ10, the GY-HM200 records and plays in 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels). The camera uses an f/1.2 lens made by JVC Kenwood, H.264 format featuring high resolution and high compression rates, and widely used SDHC/SDXC cards. It is easily compatible with existing non-linear editing systems.
Mr. Yamada from the Creation Business Unit Product Planning Department says, "Our 4K cameras are used in a wide range of markets including broadcasting stations, video production companies, government agencies, and education. We meet their needs for Ultra HD videos. The new GY-HM200 will be shown for the first time at this year's Inter BEE. We're hoping to further expand our market." Mr. Hiruma from the Product Planning Department added, "In Japan, the GY-HM200 will go on sale next February. And we'll be continually introducing new models after that."
■ Prototype 4K cameras with Super 35mm sensor and interchangeable lenses also featured
The booth will also display prototypes of the GW-SP100 and GY-LS300 4K camcorders. They have the Super 35mm image sensor developed by JVC Kenwood and a Micro Four Thirds lens mount for that allows for the flexible interchange of lenses. The GW-SP100 is the company's first 4K camera to have a separate video unit and camera unit. Mr. Yamada says, "A two-piece camera makes it very flexible to situate the camera head for remote operation. It can be used for high-definition shooting, aerial shooting from a helicopter drone, and versatile gimbal shooting. Our booth will show some examples of how the camera can be used and how easy it is."
Meanwhile, the GY-LS300 adopts a handheld form factor and a compact size and light weight, making it highly portable. Mr. Furukawa of the New Business Promotion Department states, "Although the release date has not been set, we are working to make it available as soon as possible."
■ Streaming solutions
The GY-HM650 and GY-HM850, our current HD memory card camcorders, enable live streaming via a high-speed mobile communication service. We recommend Zixi, due to enhanced network reliability, as a high value-added delivery solution.
■ Kenwood's commercial wireless radio equipment boasting high market share also on display
The Kenwood section will show Kenwood's latest commercial wireless radio equipment. According to Mr. Furukawa, "Kenwood has a high market share for commercial wireless radio equipment. The quality of our technology is recognized by professionals. By showing our latest products and solutions, we want to bring attention to Kenwood's excellent technologies."
