2013.11.15 UP
At InterBEE (November 13th-15th at Makuhari Messe in Chiba), Livegear (Booth 4611) is primarily showing speaker systems by Italian company K-array, featuring the K-array KAN200 Anakonda, which addresses to the problem of visible speakers interfering with theater-going, sports-watching and events, and other K-array speakers that elevate in-venue atmosphere. Installations at the Livegear booth will allow for live sampling of the systems.
■ K-array KAN200 Anakonda: Long bendable body for flexible Installation
The long snake-like body of the K-array KAN200 Anakonda flexible array element speaker is a problem solver for all those places where a traditional speaker box cannot go, as it increases flexibility of installation in terms of area, environment and distance. The KAN200 is a 2-meter long rope with male/female NL4 connectors at each end enabling easy connection of up to 16 modules to create a speaker line up to 32 meters long. A full range drive unit can be made by combining the Anakonda with K-array subwoofers.
Livegear CEO Yahiro Nishikawa remarked, "We installed eight Anakondas in front of the stage for a musical production in Japan, and audience members said it sounded almost completely live and felt very realistic." He also said television studios have shown interest in the Anakonda because its extreme flexibility allows it to be rolled up or even twisted, keeping it out of video recording sight lines. Priced at ¥110,00/module.
■ K-array KRM33: Ultra-compact stage monitor
The K-array KRM33 is a powered low-profile variable coverage speaker with controlled horizontal dispersion and an ultra-compact design that allows for discreet installation. The KRM33 is made up of three 3” cone drivers and one 6” passive radiator, and can range from 70Hz to 18KHz, while a DSP controller offers horizontal dispersion selectable from 30° to 70°. Thanks to in-chassis 2-channel amp and DSP, and USB plug-and-play connections with a PC allowing manipulation of various characteristics of frequency and directional response, it is possible to operate directionality control and high power mode at the same time.
The K-array KRM33 can be mounted on ceilings, walls or trusses for a variety of uses in theaters, concerts, studio work, or at exhibitions.
The K-array KRM33 is an active-type speaker, and is also available in passive-type speaker as the KRM33P. The KRM33P passive-type is ¥200,000 and KRM33 active-type is ¥100,000.
