2012.11.16 UP
Rohde & Schwarz Japan has released their ""DVS Atomix HDMI"" HDMI video card with the world's first 4K2K uncompressed signal (up to 60fps) output. Since 2010, DVS company products are under the Rohde & Schwarz umbrella.
There has been 4K output using SDI, but this is a first using HDMI. HDMI terminals are included with PC-based video cards, and there are 4 HDMI output connector systems that are compatible with HDMI 1.4b specifications. An expansion unit allows for input/output of four HD-SDI systems. It is possible to output HDTV resolution signals that are 1/4th of 4K2K video simultaneously. HDMI version 1.4 supports resolutions of 3840x2160 and 4096x2160, and is compatible with Ethernet transmission. 3D video transmission is also possible.
The internal interface includes an SDI I/O port, so by connecting to the expansion I/O port or external BOX, it is possible to input/output HD-SDI format signals (4 systems), which allows for 4K2K video to be recorded or played. Video signals in dpx file format are supported, and still images for adjustment such as color bars and lamp patterns, and videos and clip art can easily be played. In addition to 4K2K, other resolutions for studios are widely supported.
It is possible to set the resolution, scaling, and color format freely. They are offering an SDK that supports Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and Final Cut.
