Carl Zeiss is participating at the Inter BEE 2016 held at Makuhari Messe for three days from November 16 (Wednesday) to 18 (Friday) and is exhibiting its new products, "ZEISS LWZ.3 21-100mm T2.9-3.9 T*","ZEISS CZ.2 15-30mm T2.9 T*","ZEISS Milvus 2.8/18", etc.
The latest cinema lens announced in September this year, "ZEISS Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 21-100mm/T2.9-3.9 T*" will be officially exhibited for the first time in Japan. It is the lens of the new generation capable of a cinema zoom that covers the super 35mm format sensor and achieves resolution and sharpness comparable to the prime lens while zoom ratio is about 5 times.
In addition to improving the contrast by applying Zeiss original T* (T star) coating to each component of the lens to reduce unnecessary reflection, it has a gradient T stop (extremely linear and smooth T value drop when zooming) allowing it to be used with confidence across the zoom range.
As the name suggests, it is very light (2.0kg) while maintaining high resolution. Moreover, It also features a compact design with a narrowed barrel, which will reduce camera fatigue in documentary style shooting scenes where the photographer would carry the camera on the shoulder.
Furthermore, it is equipped with IMS exchange mount as with the lenses of the conventional CP.2 and CZ.2 series, thus allowing one lens to be used for a long time even when the camera's mount is changed. We set the price rather low so that young filmmakers and photographers could privately own one.
