Media Global Links exhibited its flagship product, the MD8000 multimedia transport system, as well as its new MD8400 and the MDX2040 IP router, at Inter BEE 2013.
The MD8000 series multimedia transport system can transport all kinds of video signals and data, including HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, SD-SDI, DVB-ASI, Ethernet, and 1/10G Ethernet. It supports IP, SONET/SDH, and MPLS networks and is capable of long-distance video transport. It also features hitless switching functionality, which enables hitless switching to a backup line even when the optical line fails. The system provides trouble-free transport with enhanced reliability.
The MD8400 is a new MD8000 series product featuring a smaller footprint and a lower cost than the MD8000. It can provide lower cost video transport in situations involving the transport of only a few signals.
The MDX2040 was developed in collaboration with NHK. It is a router utilizing IP-based optical fiber rather than existing baseband video transmission. Installing the product in a network control center enables the customer to link up every section (master control room, editing, sub-control rooms) via optical fiber and conduct centralized, all-IP station management. The product can be used with a mixture of video signals and data. The MDX2040 enables more effective centralized management than existing systems.
