[InterBEE 2012]LIVEGEAR—Exhibit of stage sound/lighting equipment, including the KZ10 K-Array line array speakers, weighing 90g, and the LiZ 100W power-miser LED lighting products
2012.11.10 UP
LIVEGEAR (professional audio department #4512) will showcase its wide variety of sound, lighting, and stage lift products used in performance and concert halls. Among these are the highlighted new sound and lighting products. In sound equipment, “KZ10” and “KR402” speakers will be the latest additions to the the K-array Red Line series. In lighting equipment, the new LIZ series of LED lighting will lead a pack of new offerings.
■ The theatrical production takes the stage without sound system clutter
The K-array KZ10 is an ultra-small line array system. It measures 110mm high, 22mm wide, and 17mm deep, and weighs only 90g. While small enough to fit into the palm of a hand, it can pump out a hefty 92dB. That's enough to cover an area of about 6m.
Their diminutive size makes these speakers unobtrusive and ideal for opera, Kabuki theater, Noh theater and other theatrical productions. They effectively deliver sound to the front rows nearest the stage. 'These tiny speakers don't disrupt the visual integrity of the stage scene,' said Tomoya Hasebe, LIVEGEAR Sales Manager.
Then there is the K-array KR402, an amp-integrated, portable powered line array system. Each component of this satellite line array measures 100cm high, 11.8cm wide, and 8.8cm deep, and it weighs 12kg. The maximum sound output of each component is 132dB. Multiple speakers can be arrayed to deliver sound to an area from 20 to 80 meters.
Also easy to carry, a maximum of six can be connected with a joint attachment. Quick to set up and tear down for transport, they are ideal for arena and outdoor concerts. They are now equipped with USB cables, but next generations will feature wireless speaker control from an external PC or iPad. They are also useful in configuring a large-scale system.
'Attaching the long slender speakers to other equipment is a snap. They do not stand out. The flying kit enables hanging installation. Planning can be flexible with the various available installation methods' said Hasebe, describing the product features.
■ Newly popular LED lighting featured in new product lineup
The centerpiece of the lighting exhibit is the LED PowerMix Li series. These advanced lights consume only 100W to 160W maximum. Lighting designers can use many at once for high dramatic impact.
In this series, LiZ lights are equipped with a 10 to 40° zoom. Although a DMX controlled wash light, it can also be used for broad lighting as well as beam lighting, and can be used in performances with movement.
The Lio series is a powerful 4-in-1 color changer. For a light positioned to light an entire surface, it can also be used in multiple ways for light shows and as a beam.
The LiX series is a multi-strip LED with 16 high-power 4-in-1 lights aligned on a one-meter bar. A wall washer and light curtain with strong linearity, it can also operate as a four-block color changer to create aurora-like spatial effects.
Power-miser LED lighting is gaining traction and attention. Emitting little heat, LEDs help save labor when changing lamps, while also keeping the stage cooler for the benefit of performers. Outstanding functionality and ease of operation are key selling points as well. These products have a future.
The LiZ and Lio series are already sold in Japan, while LiX is slated to appear next year.
The LIVEGEAR booth will also show the company's regular line of audio and lighting equipment as well as stage lifts and many other related products. “Our company's strong points are first, our wide variety of sound/lighting equipment and stage lifts popular among stage and concert hall managers. Second, we also have experience in stage engineering. Therefore, we can recommend the optimum combination of equipment. Please be sure to visit our company booth during the exposition to directly experience the appeal and potential of our most advanced products,' says Hasebe.
