2015.1.15 UP
Argo is an import company that introduces unusual, high performance, and reasonable products to the Japanese market. At Inter BEE 2014, they displayed many video-related devices. "Searching for unique products abroad and bringing them to the Japanese market is our job. Each of these products has its niche yet meet definite needs, and we are seeing a positive response from our customers at this year's Inter BEE," says Argo technical salesperson Katsuhiro Hakumyo. Here are three of the main Epiphan products on display from the primary devices exhibited this year.
■ The streaming and recording "Epiphan Pearl" unit with 1TB of storage
Epiphan Pearl is a unit that supports SDI/HDMI/DVI/VGA/ component signals and can record videos. It can simultaneously capture two sources, and it can be used with two screens arranged as you like. It has the ability to stream and record videos as compressed H.264 with added backgrounds and company logos.
Because it supports major streaming formats like FLV and ASF, it can be viewed via PC browsers and mobile devices. The unit has 1TB of internal storage and captured files can be extracted via the web or with USB memory devices as well as automatically uploaded via FTP to servers. Hakumyo says, "SDI camera videos and PC slideshows can be layered and streamed for lectures or live events. It could also be used to create e-Learning content, record medical facility videos or meeting minutes, and so on. It has wide applications."
■ Capture SDI and DVI/HDMI/VGA signals simultaneously with "DVI2PCIe Duo"
DVI2PCIe Duo is a PCI-Express 2.0 × 4 BUS connection board that can simultaneously capture SDI and DVI/HDMI/VGA signals. An SDI signal is compatible with 3G-SDI/HD-SDI/SD-SDI standards, and is also compatible with SDI-Audio. It can capture two 1920x1080 signals at 60fps simultaneously and support input resolutions as large as 2048x1080. Because it handles DirectShow (Windows), QuickTime (Mac), and V4L(Linux) drivers, it can handle normal player software. Hakumyo explained, "It is ideal for dual capturing high quality SDI camera videos, widely used in the broadcast industry and medical and security fields and so on, and monitor signals."
■ SDI2USB 3.0, a USD 3.0 compatible video capture unit
SDI2USB 3.0 is a converter capture unit for importing 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI standard video signals via USB 3.0 to host PCs. With high speed transfers via USB 3.0, it is capable of capturing a maximum 1920x1080 at 60fps. Hakumyo says, "It is possible to easily capture SDI camera videos, widely used in the broadcast industry and medical and security fields."
