[NEWS] DIGIcas - A variety of IP transmission devices exhibited at InterBEE2016 - First Japanese showing of Australian company Tieline's remote transmission system for audio IP
2016.11.13 UP
DIGIcas (Suginami-ku, Tokyo) exhibited at InterBEE 2016, held between November 16 (Wed) and 18 (Fri) at Makuhari Messe. Their booth (Hall 6, Booth No. 6203) exhibited the following products that they manage: The Ultrix 12G-SDI compatible routing switcher from Canada's Ross Video, the ViA remote transmission system for IP-based audio from Australia's Tieline, the IP multiviewer MCM-9000 from France's TAG Video System, and the VoIP/HDMI signal converter from Canada's Embrionix. It was the first time for products from Australia's Tieline and Canada's Embrionix to be exhibited at InterBEE.
■ Demonstration of new clean switch feature and dual 3G-SDIx4 and 12G-SDI converter.
The Ultrix from Ross Video, headquartered in Canada, is a 12G-SDI routing switcher. While being 2Ru with a compact housing Ultrix is a routing switch with a maximum size of 72x72 which is compatible with 12G-SDI and VoIP.
Head of engineering Wataru Ohashi comments that "we supported clean switch functionality with this year's IBC". The booth displayed demos of dual 3G-SDIx4 and 12G-SDI converter and 4K routing using 4K, the multiviewer functionality, and the clean switch.
■ Exhibition of TAG Video System's 4K (HECV) and SDI Over IP (SMTPE-2022-6,7) compatible IP multiviewer MCM-9000.
The MCM-9000 from TAG Video System, headquartered in Israel, is an IP stream multiview system capable of streaming up to an extremely high 250 streams (SD) on one device. At this year's IBC, in addition to TS over IP it was compatible with 4K(HECV) and SDI Over IP(SMTPE-2022-6,7). The supporting codec is MPEG-2/H.264/HEVC. The transmission protocol is UDP/RTP/HRTP/HLS (HTTP Live Streaming)/RTMP and SDI Over IP (SMTPE-2022-6,7). The display at the booth focused on newly compatible HEVC and VoIP. Specifically, TS over IP(H.264, HEVC) and VoIP are prepared as inputs in order to mix various formats on one multiviewer screen and display on a monitor. Additionally, a demonstration of a low-delay monitoring solution by outputting the multiviewer through VoIP is scheduled.
■ Embrionix's SFP module, which enables the construction of systems with mixed base band and IP, was shown for the first time at InterBEE.
Embrionix, headquartered in Canada, is a manufacturer which supplies SPF modules to a large number of broadcasting equipment manufacturers. DIGIcas states that they became an official agent in September of this year.
Exhibited at this year's InterBEE were the 12G-SDI/VoIP compatible routing switch emMODULAR and the VoIP-HDMI signal converter emVIEW - both officially released at this year's IBC.
Says Ohashi - "Due to the fact that there are no monitor-type products which can directly input an IP stream, using the VoIP-HDMI signal converter emVIEW can enable the direct connection of a monitor with the IP network. Further, using the 12G-SDI/VoIP compatible routing switch emMODULAR makes switching of devices connected to an IP network possible. Accordingly, at InterBEE we are proposing an optimum solution based on a SFP module for systems with mixed base bands and IP".
■ ViA - the remote transmission system for audio IP from Australia's Tieline which is garnering interest as a substitute device for the ISDN INS Net service - was displayed for the first time at InterBEE.
Tieline, headquarted in Australia, is a manufacturer of audio codec products. DIGIcas became an official agent for their products in May of this year. The remote transmission system for audio IP ViA, exhibited for the first time at this year's InterBEE, can, using proprietary technology, take into account network redundancy and delay to easily transmit stable high-quality audio over normal internet lines. The product won the Best of Show Award at this year's IBC.
Ohashi comments - "Due to the fact that the ViA can transmit stably over cellphone networks and internet lines it can be used as a substitute for the ISDN service INS Net digital transmission mode that will be phased out by 2020. As such, there is great interest from television and radio stations". "We plan to place this device on a desktop to allow users to experience its great usability" he further notes.
■ Numerous products that DIGIcas handles also on display.
Other products that DIGIcas handles are also planned to be exhibited, including the peripheral system openGear and the 4:4:4 compatible virtual camera Acid from Ross Video, KSC CORE - a network integration control/supervision solution from Germany's BFE, TripleTV - an IPTV/IP dual viewing system from the UK's TriplePlay, and UHD-Play - a 4K high-compression player from France's BBright.
