Inter BEE 2010: Rohde & Schwarz Japan offer a 3D update for the signal generator R&S DVSG.

Instrument maker Rohde & Schwarz Japan (booth #7409) exhibited a version of their R&S DVSG signal generator that is compatible with 3D signals.

The R&S DVSG generates a precision signal for use as a reference in FPD research and production. This signal utilizes non-compressed video as well as still images, allowing the state of FPD image output to be observed without any encoding-induced deterioration.

In addition to HDMI (this product is HDMI 1.4a compliant) the R&S DVSG offers a range of output terminals, including DVI, HD/SD-SDI, BNC, SCART, and VGA. The signal generator can compile a video signal ranging from 4:2:0 / 8 bit to 4:4:4 / 12 bit, with audio from 32 kHz@16 bit to 44 kHz@24 bit.

Since it is compliant with HDMI 1.4a, the R&S DVSG can output 3D images, with this new 3D output capability featuring three types of 3D video. Rohde & Schwarz hopes that this product will be used in the evaluation and inspection of 3D display equipment.
