Inter BEE 2010: Thomson Canopus Present Non-Linear Editing Software EDIUS 6 and the T2 Intelligent Digital Disc Recorder.

Thomson Canopus (booth #7415) presented the advanced functions of the company's new EDIUS 6 non-linear editing software product, and introduced a workflow demonstration with the new version of the company's T2 intelligent digital recorder. Thomson Canopus put on a stage demo to show off the appeal of their products, which also included live 3D super-slow motion video.
EDIUS 6 features a new rendering engine, 4k support and free shape mask, and boasts a total of more than 100 functions. Thomson Canopus also exhibited their top-of-the-range EDIUS 6 Broadcast model that supports P2 and XDCAM, and comes with proxy editing functions.
Hardware has also advanced. The HDWS 3G non-linear editing system presented features an SDI for 3G support, as well as Thomson Canopus' specialized chassis designed for stable operation over the long term. The top-class model HDWS 3G ELITE features server-grade stability and serviceability, as well as a new type of multi-I/O processor. Also presented were workflow demonstrations using the optional Gateway Server for the low-cost network control server system EDIUS Workgroup Server.
T2 is a high picture quality, long recording time disc recorder with 1-in 2-out functionality for fully synced replay. Other capabilities include compatibility for bidirectional file transfer with non-linear editing gear, background video copy to external media during recording, and 14-stage slow motion replay.
The company's live broadcast product K2 Dyno/Solo supports Channel Flex -- a system capable of multiple source input with 1 codec. Thomson Canopus also displayed their K2 RAID Storage System used in broadcasting stations all over the world.
As a technological exhibit, the company also presented the LDK 8300 camera used to shoot 3D live super-slow video at large sporting events, the MediaEdge digital signage product, and a range of routers and control products that are in use all around the globe.
