Press Release

Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association

The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA; Representative Director/Chairman Kazuhiro Tsuga, Chairperson of the Board, Panasonic Holdings Corporation) announced today that pre-registration for Inter BEE 2024, a comprehensive media event, at Makuhari Messe from November 13 (Wed) to 15 (Fri), 2024.

Inter BEE is widely recognized as Japan’s largest media comprehensive event within the media and entertainment industry. It serves as an exhibition where not only professionals in audio, video, broadcasting, live entertainment, lighting, communications, and distribution gather, but also a broad range of engineers, creators, and stakeholders from various fields. Marking its 60th edition this year, Inter BEE focuses on ‘content’ and comprehensively covers everything from ‘creating’ (production), ‘sending’ (transmission), to ‘receiving’ (experience). It offers the latest information and business opportunities in the media and entertainment sectors.

Expanding the Number of Exhibitors and Exhibition Space, Opening the Door to a New Decade

At the 2023 event, 1,005 exhibitors from Japan and overseas participated, with 31,702 visitors, approaching the scale of events before COVID. This year, the range of industries represented by exhibitors is expanding, and the number of exhibitors is expected to surpass last year’s. The event will be held across seven exhibition halls at Makuhari Messe. In commemoration of the 60th edition, Inter BEE will initiate efforts to “look ahead to the future of the media and entertainment industry and open the door to the next decade,” featuring the first-ever “INTER BEE AWARD” and a new special project, “INTER BEE CINEMA.” In parallel, we will also enhance and expand the traditional special projects and conferences, making a powerful step forward into the next 10 years.

Creation of the “INTER BEE AWARD” to Recognize the Latest Products in Each Category

In conjunction with the 60th edition, the “INTER BEE AWARD” will be established. As the global media and entertainment industry continues to grow and expand through a significant period of transformation, the technology for creating, transmitting, receiving, and experiencing content is accelerating its evolution with the use of AI, among other advancements. With the current technological trends that will greatly influence the future of the media and entertainment industry in mind, the INTER BEE AWARD will recognize products and services displayed at the event that are considered superior. The final judging for the INTER BEE AWARD will take place at the exhibition venue on Wednesday, November 13, with the winners being announced and awarded the same evening.

New Interactive Cinema Community INTER BEE CINEMA Showcasing Realistic Film Production Techniques

Inter BEE’s special projects are designed to broadly cover the expanding media and entertainment fields while focusing on each sector with a unique perspective. This year, a new special project titled “INTER BEE CINEMA” will be introduced, themed around film production technology, and developed as an “interactive cinema community.” INTER BEE CINEMA will serve as a platform where leading-edge technology and professionals from the forefront of Japan’s rapidly advancing film industry gather to showcase their techniques, sensibility, and creativity. Particularly notable is the “Studio Set Area,” which realistically recreates the film production environment with live demonstrations. With the participation of top domestic cinematographers, this area will provide an inspirational hands-on experience for not only film production professionals but also the next generation of content creators.

INTER BEE DX×IP PAVILION Proposing DX in Content Production through Corporate Collaboration

The INTER BEE IP PAVILION, which has long introduced the IP-based transformation of Japan’s broadcasting industry from the forefront of technology, will continue its corporate collaboration and expand beyond its previous main theme of “IP” by incorporating “AI,” “Cloud,” and “Security.” This new focus will enhance the efficiency of next-generation content production, and the pavilion will be renamed “INTER BEE DX×IP PAVILION.” In addition to the foundational “MoIP Technologies” focused on the visualization of IP systems, the pavilion will offer three more concepts: “Remote MoIP Equipment Experience,” “MoIP Faults and Recovery Experience,” and “The World of DX-Driven Content Production in Five Years.”

Unique Special Projects, Conferences, and Venue Tours Offering Experience, Expression, and Discovery at Inter BEE

This year, the event hall will once again host the “INTER BEE EXPERIENCE X-Speaker,” a world-class SR speaker experience event that has become a fixture of the exhibition. In the exhibition halls, other enhanced special projects include “INTER BEE EXPERIENCE X-Headphone/X-Microphone,” “INTER BEE IGNITION×DCEXPO,” “INTER BEE BORDERLESS,” and “INTER BEE CREATIVE.” The “INTER BEE FORUM” will take place in the International Conference Hall alongside conferences related to the special projects, including sessions from the “61st Broadcast Technology Report Conference” (organized by the Japan Commercial Broadcasters Association) and exhibitor seminars, with over 100 sessions planned to cover the latest trends in various fields. Furthermore, the “Inter BEE 2024 Venue Tour” will be held again this year to offer next-generation professionals an opportunity to experience Inter BEE firsthand. Students specializing in media and entertainment at universities and vocational schools, as well as general visitors, are welcome to participate.
